Christmas wishlist

hello again, i hope you all had a lovely weekend!

I have wanted to sit down and write this blog post for quite sometime now but wasn't sure if i was too 'early' or even too late for some, i'm sure. But the arrival of the chilly months has made me so excited and content at the idea of a lovely family Christmas that i had to write it. I don't know about you but this time of year when the nights are longer and the air has that crisp and clear vibe to it, is just my favourite, i mean whats not to love ? And the fact that Christmas (and my birthday) are smack bang in the middle of it just adds to my feeling of absolute happiness :)

... anyway without further a do here are a few things that i might/hope to receive this Christmas time!

Firstly this gorgeous faux fur coat from Topshop. I have been looking for a fur coat for quite sometime but could never find one that suited me or that i particularly liked, but when i came across this one i fell in love and i just knew i had to have it.

This book is solely about introverts and the differences between both introverts and extroverts. Me being an introvert myself have always felt a bit secluded from extrovert types so this book interests me hugely and i am very excited to read it and better understand my personality i guess. I feel like introverts are misjudged, often for being abnormal because being an 'extrovert' seems to be the desired of the two nowadays. I've always felt like this about myself anyway. This is why i believe this is going to be a really good read for both extroverts and introverts and the fact that it is a New York times best seller just made me more inclined to put it on my wishlist.

This next item makes me most excited, i have been hoping to buy this for super long now and as Christmas is very rapidly approaching i thought when better to get it ? i love both the burgundy and navy version of this vintage pinafore and have already been outfit planning. I am thinking maybe a turtle neck or striped tee. EEK way to excited. I have also been lovin' the denim skirt trend and am hardly ever not in my one, to be honest, so when the corduroy pinafores became a thing i just knew that i needed to get one.

Calvin Klein underwear has always been a trend that i haven't really followed, up until now that is. I wanted something comfy but cute at the same time and i think they do the job pretty dam well; needless to say i've jumped on the bandwagon.

Women's Calvin Klein Modern Cotton Bralet Sports Bra - White - 14

As you know i am an avid listener to music and often find myself feeling nostalgic over songs i grew up listening to. Recently it has been the Kooks album 'Inside In The Inside Out' which i do recommend listening to if you haven't already. Now that i own a record player i tend to gravitate more to using records rather than CD's, i'm not too sure why but there is something special about putting a record on that always makes me weirdly content. Perhaps because the music sounds more authentic, anyways this is a must this Christmas!

Now if you know me, you know i am very passionate about taking pictures and this camera has been on my mind for agessssssssss now and i can hardly contain my excitement about finally getting it, even writing this is making me all giddy! it sounds odd to get this excited over a camera but photography is a hobby of mine and i want to be able to use different techniques and capture shots that you can't really instigate on an iPhone 4s ...

Product Details

Thats it for my Christmas wishlist 2015, i hope reading it got you in the Christmas spirit or gave you some inspiration for gifts this year! i am a very indecisive person so will likely change my mind in the upcoming weeks haha

thanku for reading,

love Mia x

- also i hope to take some outfit shots over the coming weeks so keep an eye out for a winter lookbook post :)

Music lovin'

Hello again,

So I have recently been introduced to some knew artists which have very quickly become my absolute favourite thing to listen to, I quite literally have their songs on repeat all day! To be more specific, the bands 'Arcade Fire' and 'Jukebox the ghost' I have also been listening to some old classics such as 'Midnight dirt' by M83 which is of course a firm favourite. For those of you who know and love these bands you probably think I have been living under a rock.

I don't know about you but finding music that you instantly connect with is a rarity, I mean don't get me wrong I regularly get caught up in the latest pop hits and find a catchy song which i replay 100 times, until I begin to annoy myself. But I'm talking about those songs which never get old (like an episode of friends). If you play them when you are in a glum mood they instantly lift your spirits, if you play them when you are happy, they heighten that feeling and make you feel even better. Music is great like that. And at the moment 'Arcade Fire' and 'Jukebox the ghost' are the two bands that do that for me.

I'm not too sure how I would describe my music taste, I guess you could say 'alternative'. I seem to enjoy most types of genres from the ultimate pop queens 'Adele' and 'Beyonce' to rock bands 'Arctic monkeys'. And I am also a HUGE  lover of the Beatles. However at the moment, I tend to gravitate more towards 'Indie bands' such as 'Arcade fire' and Jukebox the ghost'. But my music taste varies a lot so who knows what i will be addicted to next month!

Yesterday, in the middle of a hard core game of 'what would you rather', my dad asked me the ultimate question 'never read a book again EVER or never listen to a single piece of music again'. Now if you know me, you will gather that this is a very tough question because I do love a good book, however I think I prefer music. Im not too sure why, I just do.

Anyway after that long winded couple of paragraphs of me divulging my music woo's. I thought i'd let you in on some of my favourite songs at the moment! (Most of which will feature the likes of 'Arcade fire' and 'Jukebox the ghost')

In particular, regarding AF (arcade fire), I have been lovin' there 2010 album 'the suburbs'
here are some of my favourite songs in the album !

1) The Suburbs
2) Ready to run
3) Empty room
3) We used to wait
4) Sprawl I

Jukebox the ghost

1) Victoria
2) Postcard

4) Girl

Now am I aware both these albums are quite old and i am VERY late to the party, But they are quickly becoming my two favourite bands ever (yes that is a big statement, you heard it here first).

To prove I have varied taste here are some other songs and artists that have been replayed quite a bit lately.

M83 - Midnight mist
Florence and the machine - pretty much all of her albums
Lewis Watson - sink or swim
Alt - J Breezeblocks - (always a must) and dancing in the moonlight
Jack Garratt - Weathered
Angus and Julie Stone - Big jet plane
John Newman - Tiring Game
Tom Rosenthal - Take your guess
The Killers - most of their stuff
James Bay - Craving, Hold back the river and Let it go
Bright eyes - First day of my life
Otis McDonald - Not for nothing

Thanku for taking the time to read my blog, hope you are having a swell Sunday :)

Rambling on about Tumblr!

Hello!

So I was picking my brain for something simple but interesting for my first blog post and as I've been thoroughly enjoying spending any spare time immersed in the online world of tumblr blogging. I thought it was only right to do a tumblr favourites for you!

I feel as though I am becoming much more outgoing when it comes to posting on tumblr. I don't seem to have much of a 'theme' as sort rather just posting photos and music that catch my eye or inspire me in some way.

My tumblr blog is @buttonose.tumblr.com and I use it an awful lot, so be sure to check it out if you fancy scrolling through a series of aesthetically pleasing photos, relatable quotes or a few of my favourite tunes.

PEOPLE

This post is one of my favourites purely because of how warm and content it makes me feel. I love pictures of people going about their natural day to day life. And I feel that this picture captures that very well, along with the orange toned colours, it really is a good picture for the Autumnal months.

This makes me feel warm and cozy

I am very fond of this second post and whenever it is on my timeline I generally repost it. I'm not too sure why it appeals to me so much, maybe its the fact its quite authentic and dated. Or perhaps because of the relaxed setting that makes you feel as if you are in the moment too. Either way it is a huge favourite of mine and it wouldn't be right not to include it.

QUOTES

I am definitely not the right person to be giving lessons on confidence, something i lack the majority of the time. However I am working on it and seem to be improving (slightly).
